From Dance Floors to “I Do’s” - Why I Became a Kent Wedding Photographer

Over the past few years, I’ve had the joy of working as a dance and portrait photographer, a role that’s allowed me to meet amazing creatives and capture expression in its rawest form. But a couple of years ago, something shifted. Friends began asking me the Big Question:"Would you photograph our wedding?"

To be totally honest… it terrified me.

Being trusted to document one of the most important days in someone’s life is no small task. I remember thinking, do they really know what they’re asking of me? But despite the nerves, I decided take the challenge and give it everything I had.

What I discovered was something special.

A natural fit for documentary wedding photography

Almost instantly, I realised that weddings are where I’m meant to be. As someone who’s happiest quietly observing the world through a lens, I naturally gravitated toward a documentary-style approach; capturing fleeting, magical moments without interfering. I love blending into the background, gently navigating through guests, and preserving the genuine, unfiltered joy that unfolds.

My favourite images are always the spontaneous ones:

  • A good old laugh between treasured friends

  • A couple sneaking a quiet moment

  • That split-second mid-dancefloor spin you didn’t know you had in you

These are the photos that matter. The ones that feel real.

Why Kent Weddings feel like Home

As a Kent and South East-based wedding photographer, I’m lucky to work in a region that’s brimming with beauty, from stately homes and historic venues to rustic barns and sweeping coastlines. Living locally means I know the golden hours, the secret corners of venues, and how to capture those subtle seasonal details that make each wedding feel uniquely you.

Whether you’re getting married in a countryside manor, a relaxed garden setting, or a cool urban space, I’ll be there quietly clicking away, ready to catch the in-betweens.

Oh, and the Dance Floor? I’m There Too.

A little bonus? I’m also a dance teacher — which means you won’t find me standing on the sidelines when the music starts. Whether it’s your cousin’s enthusiastic Macarena or your granddad’s surprising rhythm, I’ll be on the dance floor with you, camera in hand, ready to immortalise your best moves.

Ready to tell your story?

I’m now taking on more wedding bookings across Kent and the South East, and I genuinely cannot wait to be there for the next chapter. If you’re after relaxed, emotive, story-driven images, and a photographer who’ll laugh, cry, and possibly moonwalk with you I’d love to hear from you.

Let’s make magic.
