My favourite time of year is Halloween. I can’t get enough of the costumes, make-up, spooky stories and creativity that Halloween brings. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that I think that Halloween photoshoots are THE BEST, most fun photoshoots to do! Here are some tips to help you prepare.
Choose a general theme and aesthetic.
You can be as specific as you want, but if you only have a rough idea, I can help to develop it into something that works for you. It may be that you wish to emulate your favourite spooky character from a book or film, or that you just want to live your own best creepy life. Whatever it is, we will have fun exploring ideas and creeping each other out!
Use Halloween makeup and costumes help you get into character.
Some simple makeup can help you to release your inhibitions and truly get into character. The same goes for a costume. If it is a dance Halloween photoshoot, then ensure you are still able to move freely in your chosen outfit. Don’t worry, I can help you with some makeup!

If you are stuck coming up with ideas, it’s always a good idea to search platforms such as Pinterest, TikTok and Instagram for Halloween photoshoot ideas. Even if it’s for more specific things like costume, makeup, poses, locations, lighting. I love it when people come to me with some weird and wonderful ideas, and we then work together to develop it!
